In 1902, Georges Melies' A Trip to the Moon became the first internationally successful science-fiction movie. This French film was also credited as the first special effects movie.

This three piece, 8 3/8" diameter urethane resin relief depicts the memorable scene where the man in the moon is shot in the eye by a manned projectile, the precursor to the modern rocked ship. Surrounded by the craters and resembling a cream pie, the face grimaces in a parody of surprise and pain. This limited edition kit (350 casts) includes a large color paining guide as well as highly detailed instructions and may be hung on a wall.
